A NOTE FROM

Vocalist & Composer

Summer 2026

Dear friend,

May was an unforgettable month filled with deeply meaningful artistic collaborations. I had the joy of performing a Carnatic & Hindustani jugalbandhi at Samvaad, presenting a reimagined Shankarabharanam pallavi at Varnam Salon, and singing at the Ashavari Music Festival in the presence of the legendary Pandit Swapan Choudhuri. To top it all off, BayRaagis and I opened for the play adaptation of The Lunchbox - scroll down to catch a video from that performance!

In this edition, I also wanted to step behind the curtain and share something a bit closer to home: a reflection on why Arangetrams are so deeply meaningful to me, and a look at the upcoming recitals on my summer calendar.

We also have some exciting milestones on the horizon. Make sure to save the dates for Dear Daughter at the Geeva Arts Festival in Kentucky this July, and SIFA's Lalithakala Vaibhavam is just around the corner in August. Read on for all the details!

The Lunchbox

I'm so happy to finally share a video from The Lunchbox, where I had the joy of opening alongside the wonderful BayRaagis. It was such a wonderful event where we got to present a special set - fast forward to 33:20 to check out my unique cover of a Norah Jones classic!

A Personal Note

Why I Love Singing for Arangetrams

Having trained in Bharatanatyam myself, singing for dance always feels like coming home. Arangetram season is particularly close to my heart. It is easy to forget how monumental these solo recitals are, but they represent a massive milestone for both the student and their family. I feel incredibly privileged to play a small role in such a meaningful chapter of their lives.

Summer is peak recital season, which means the hustle is in full swing. Juggling hours of notation, long commutes, and late-night rehearsals alongside my own family life isn't always easy. Yet, it is profoundly rewarding. Getting to sing exquisite compositions — ranging from deeply nostalgic classics to exciting new pieces — and collaborating with brilliant musicians to honor a student's hard work makes it all worth it. I am endlessly grateful for this work!

Sakal Ban

Thanks to the brilliant vision of my friends at Nazariya Dreams, I am absolutely thrilled to share a major milestone with you all: my very first music video! We brought the beautiful, timeless classic Sakal Ban to life, featuring yours truly on vocals. It was an incredible experience stepping in front of the camera to blend this gorgeous music with a visual story. I'm so proud of what we created, and I can't wait for you to watch it!

Dear Daughter

Dear Daughter is a stunning solo Bharatanatyam dance work exploring what we carry across borders, what we build in the wilderness, and the gardens we hope to leave behind. It is a piece dedicated to every mother enduring winters so that their daughters can know spring.

I am deeply honored to have composed, arranged, and produced the music for this incredibly thoughtful production. Bringing this narrative to life through sound was a profound journey, and I am endlessly thankful to the stellar creative collaborators who elevated the score with their brilliance.
